The national Under 19 Cricket team was not allowed to participate in the ICC U-19 World Cup by the host country, Zambia due to the current Ebola epidemic in Sierra Leone. The tournament has already commenced.
The president of the Sierra Leone Cricket Association (SLCA) Francis Trevor Samura described the situation as unfortunate "especially after we had undergone medical test from Ministry of Health and Sanitation".
Samura said, "The host country stopped us from taking part because of the Ebola crisis, we are not happy with that situation but it is a national problem so we have to accept it and as an association we are doing our best to keep our players free of Ebola".
