On Tuesday evening, Bo Rangers striker Suffian Kalokoh came from the bench to take the game by the scruff of its neck by scoring a hattrick to beat Mauritania 3-1.
The U-20 national team, Shooting Stars were playing their second game in the ongoing WAFU U-20 Championship in Guinea.
Shooting Stars lost 4-1 to Senegal in their opening game of the tournament over the weekend.
However, on Tuesday the team showed much character after conceding in the first half of the game to comeback and win. The team will now face Guinea in their last game.
Sierra Leone sits third in the group behind Senegal and Guinea. All three teams have three points each with only goal difference separating them.
With three points now in the bag, Shooting Stars must win at all cost against hosts Guinea to go through.
Kalokoh was awarded as the man of the match. His hattrick means he is now the highest goal scorer in the tournament with four goals.
