The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has entered into a contract with a Dutch- based Company, Edel Grass for the construction of artificial turfs in several playing fields across Sierra Leone.
The artificial turf construction project was made known to the public through the association’s twitter account on the 11th July, 2023.
The pitches that set to benefit from the aforementioned facilities include the Bo Coronation field, Port Loko Field, Approved School Field and the SLFA Academy at Kingtom. The company will be responsible for the installation of floodlights in Kenema and Kono and the maintenance of Wusum Field in Makeni.
The partnership between SLFA and Edel Grass signifies a significant investment in enhancing the quality of football facilities throughout the country.
It could be recalled that at the just concluded SLFA Ordinary Congress recently held from the 4th to 6th July, 2023 at Radisson Blu Hotel in Freetown, the SLFA President Thomas Daddy Brima announced that his administration has applied for 6 projects related to infrastructure. He said the football association is to construct a 100-seater pavilion at the SLFA headquarter.
