The recently-appointed General Secretary of the Sierra Leone Football Association has described the state of the facilities at SLFA headquarters at Kingtom as "a health hazard" and ordered its immediate closure. Christopher Kamara who took sports journalists on an inspection tour of the facilities last weekend said "even dogs cannot sleep here" and suggested that players who've been camping in the hostel for international matches may have contracted malaria and that "could be one of the reasons they lose matches".

Kamara also took the journalists through all administrative offices in the building and complained that the offices were all locked because they were all in poor shape with sub-standard equipment.

At the Premier League Board office, the SLFA General Secretary said there was no proper system of records management which he said is crucial for the SLFA.

Kamara said with the information now available to him, he "will make sure that all those staff that were responsible for the deplorable state of the Secretariat be given a maximum punishment".

Asked when his administration will start work to rehabilitate the facilities, he said the SLFA has forwarded  proposals to the world governing body of football, FIFA and that rehabilitation would start as soon as approval was given.
