Lions drop 5 points out of 6
Mighty Blackpool Vs East End Lions was the game of the weekend. This is the derby that started last season and it could well be the same fixture that has finally revived a moribund Blackpool team to life.
East End Lions failure to win this game means they have now won just one point out of six. And they have gone three games in all competitions without winning; FC Kallon (Challenge Cup), Ports Authority and Mighty Blackpool.
John Kesiter dismissed concerns that they were worried about their form. In a post-match press conference on Sunday, Keister said: “Come on guys, we have just played two games. We still have 24 more games to go.”
Keister is right, but with a team like Lions that already has the defending champions tag, there is always going to be speculations of crisis whenever a game is lost or drawn.
For Blackpool, they will take a huge pride in their performance. The performance against Blackpool was flat but on Sunday the real Blackpool showed up. They pushed Lions right through the 90 minutes.

Kalokoh fires Rangers to second place
He is back with a bang. Suffian Kalokoh’s hot streak continues as he bangs the only goal to beat RSLAF FC 1-0 in Bo. Rangers welcomed their former coach Tito Cole in Bo with a lot of respect. This win for Rangers means they are tied on point with neighbors Kamboi Eagles.
It is still too early in the season, but these points are still a boost for Rangers. They face FC Johansen next weekend, how they handle themselves away from home will determine their title credentials.
Bo Rangers 1-0 RSLAF
Parade and Kono boys in stalemate
Central Parade failed to score for the second game in a row now. They picked a point though, which is not bad. They put in a good performance on Saturday night, but they know they need to be better, especially in front of goal.
Two games, two draws, this is how Diamond Stars have started their season. They need to get out of the blocks now or they will risk drifting away once the tougher fixtures come along.
Central Parade 0-0 Diamond Stars
Anti-Drugs get another draw
Two points in two for Anti-Drugs; this is not a bad start. But they need to be winning against teams like FC Johansen. They are not going to get chances like these so often this season.
FC Johansen will not be too disappointed with two points either. They can be better. They will have to be patient for that first three points. Their next game is against Bo Rangers.
Anti-Drugs 0-0 FC Johansen
Eagles soar at the top
Kamboi Eagles have won two out of two. Their 100% start to the league means they are top of the table. They comfortably dispatched Freetown City FC on Thursday.
Are they pushing for the title? That’s the call from Kenema. It’s still early and they have a lot of work to do to get there.
This means FCFC have now lost their first two games. They lost the first game in Bo and have now lost to a team from Kenema. The only other team to have lost its first two games this season is RSLAF. Both teams will have to decide on how to get their season started proper or relegation could be calling.
FCFC 0-1 Kamboi Eagles.
