JOINT PRESS RELEASE
Ministry of Sports and the Sierra Leone football association
The Ministry of Sports and the Sierra Leone Football Association has received credible and tangible information on the alleged involvement of one official an erstwhile employee of SLFA, and four (4) of our national team players on allegations of match fixing in the FIFA World Cup 2010 preliminary fixtures, South Africa Versus Sierra Leone on the 21st July, 2008.
The Official and Players identified in this unsporting and unpatriotic exercise are:
- Abu Bakarr Kabba aka Sweet Kay
- Christian Caulker
- Ibrahim Kargbo
- Ibrahim Koroma
- Samuel Ballay
In view of the above, the SLFA and the Ministry of Sports has with immediate effect suspended the named official and the four players from all footballing activities including the pending Cup of Africa Nations Cup qualifiers Vs. the Seychelles on Saturday 9th July, 2014.
Meanwhile, following other revelations and informations received by the Ministry of Sports, the SLFA hereby informs the general public that the Ministry of Sports has resolved to suspend with immediate effect the following individuals from all football and other sports related activities including positions held either in clubs, leagues, associations, etc.

- Nasiru Deen Othman - SLFA Exco
- Morrison Mohamed Sannoh - SLFA Exco
- Abdul Kanasieu Rollings - SLFA Exco
- Abdul Kabia - Referee
- Bernard Sorbeh - Referee
- Sheriff Newland - Referee
- Victor Lewis - Club/S Proprietor
- Alimamy Turay - Coach
- Rodney Michael –Football Administrator
Whilst an investigating committee will be constituted by the SLFA and the Ministry of Sports to probe into all allegations of match fixing involving our national selections, match officials and other related issues, the Police has been invited to assist with investigations.
