Sierra Leone’s Vice President, Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh PhD has expressed the government’s intention to tap into opportunities offered by the private sector in the area of health.
The Vice President was speaking during an engagement with the private sector partners held at Radisson Blu Hotel in Freetown on Monday 3rd April 2023.
After highlighting some of the projects the private sector has been undertaking towards supporting government efforts in the health sector, he also thanked them for their continued support.
The Minister of Health and Sanitation, Dr. Austin Demby, outlined the key achievements of the ministry, highlighting the numerous outcomes that include a drastic reduction in maternal and infant mortality.
According to Dr. Demby, structured private sector support for health care delivery is vital to improving lives.
A transitional team referred to as Heath Private Sector Partners (HPSP) was said to be later established to lead in the designing of a model to better structure private support for the health sector.
