The Sierra Leone U-20 national team, Shooting Stars are bracing up to face Guinea this evening in the WAFU U-20 Championship.
Shooting Stars put in a stellar performance on Tuesday evening against Mauritania to come from a goal down and blew away their opponents 3-1 by the end the second half.
Bo Rangers striker, Suffian Kalokoh led the team to the win with his second half hattrick. He is already the top goal scorer in this tournament, with four goals in two games.
Sierra Leone sits third in the group on goal difference behind Guinea and Senegal, respectively. A win for the Shooting Stars will send them through to the semi-finals of the tournament.
Senegal face Mauritania in the other game. But with Mauritania’s chances of qualifying from the group already gone, it is hard to see them get anything against Senegal. This means all the pressure shifts to Sierra Leone and Guinea to fight their way through.
Guinea, who are the hosts, will have their home crowd to count on for this encounter. But considering the proximity between the two countries, Sierra Leoneans in Guinea and back home won’t be quiet either.
