Stakeholders of the Sierra Leone Athletics Association have called for the intervention of the Acting Director of Sports Saidu Mansaray and the General Secretary of the National Olympic Committee Joseph Nyande to get their executive to convene the organisation's congress.
In a letter signed by 19 officials mainly club Presidents and Secretarys General, the Acting Director of Sports and NOC scribe were requested to act because "the SLAA executive committee has been silent over the pronouncement of a date for the congress. We the Stakeholders of SLAA are here by requesting that you kindly intervene to see that our federation takes us to congress in the shortest possible time as stipulated in the constitution as you are the umbrella of all sports in Sierra Leone."
According to the Stakeholders the term of office of the executive expired on the 3rd April 2015 and "we don’t want to revert to invoking Article 32 which gives us the mandate to call an extra-odniry congress that will have the same powers like the general congress."
