Sierra Leonean midfielder Alfred Zagalo Sankoh secured a win for his side Sanliurfaspor at home last weekend against Kahramanmarasspor 1-0.
Sankoh said he was extremely delighted to have his name on the score sheet for second time this season. “As a player, you want to win every home game but overall I am quite happy, my goal was a special one. I want to keep scoring and hopefully promote my side to the Turkish Super League next season,” he said.
He has been left out of Coach McKinstry's 20 -man squad for the match between Sierra Leone and Equatorial Guinea this weekend in Freetown.
Despite the disappointment, Sankoh said he wants to continue playing for Sierra Leone and to be part of the squad that will one day qualify Leone Stars to another major competition.
Sanliurfaspor are currently third in the second tier of Turkish football behind leaders, Semsunspor and Malikesispor who are on six points.
In Sweden, Mohamed `Pobosky` Bangura came from the bench to give Elfsborg an important away win as they beat Djurgarden 2-1.
Bangura`s goal was his 6th of the season. Elfsborg are in 6th position with 34 points trailing league leaders, Malmo FF by 11 points.
He is among the 20- man squad for this weekend's game against Equatorial Guinea in Freetown.
