No "Government bus" services to Kono

Chairman motor drivers’ union in Kono says despite efforts by SALCOST to patch up the 70-kilometre stretch of road between Matotoka and Yeyie, government bus services to the district have been terminated.

Ali Musa told Politico that “transportation services have been suspended indefinitely, leaving hundreds of passengers in a precarious situation in the district”, which used to be the breadbasket of Sierra Leone.

13 for Kailahun Paramount Chief

Thirteen candidates from six ruling houses are vying to become Paramount Chief of the Peje Bonga chiefdom in the Kailahun district.

It followed a recent announcement by the National Electoral Commission declaring a vacancy in the chiefdom.

In a recent chiefdom meeting held at the Court Barray in Manowa, the Regent Chief (or Acting Chief) Musa Sheriff acknowledged the receipt of 13 application letters from various people from the various ruling houses in the chiefdom.
