Top 2 of Sierra Leone's top bank released from jail

After weeks in police custody and later on remand, the Managing Director of the Sierra Leone Commercial Bank, Crispin Bishop Deigh was yesterday released from the Pademba Road prison after he went through the bail conditions granted on Tuesday.
Three others, his deputy Patrick Conteh, John Benjamin Sankoh and Salieu Mohamed Barrie also returned home.
Sierra Leone parliament approves $ 16 m for light

Parliament has approved a US$ 16-million grant agreement between Sierra Leone and the international development association for the energy access project aimed at improving electricity supply in the country.
Presenting the grant agreement Minister of State in the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development said the grant was meant for the improvement of electricity supply in the Western Area and the capacity to the National Power Authority.
NRA, Ecobank case to High Court

The case of alleged state fraud involving thirteen accused persons, working for the National Revenue Authority, Ecobank and the Sierra Leone Shipping Company, has been transferred to the High Court of Sierra Leone for trial. The accused were refused bail.
The transfer followed the indictment last week of 17 people by the Anti Corruption Commission for various offences.
