NRA, contractor in war of words

The tax officer of the National Revenue Authority (NRA) in the Eastern district of Kono, Ansumana Bockarie has accused the road construction company, Well Group Sierra Leone Limited of “theft, cheating and lying”. The company is in charge of the construction of the 20-kilometre road within the Koidu.
The NRA man was responding to a statement by the sub-contractors of Well Group Sierra Leone Limited that 5% deducted from money owed them were directly paid to NRA in fulfilment of their tax obligations to the government.
Witness testifies in pharmacist’s murder

Seven accused persons are currently standing trial at the Magistrate Court No. 2 in Freetown for the alleged murder of late pharmacist, Adeyemi Justine Patrick Johnson.
The accused persons, who have been standing trial since December last year before Magistrate Komba Kamanda, were charged with four count of murder, conspiracy to commit murder, larceny and arson.
