Journalists trained on maternal, newborn health

A three-day training to educate journalists on how to report maternal and newborn health started yesterday at the Kona Lodge in Freetown.
Organised by Evidence for Action (E4A), it is part of a five-year programme that will focus on improving maternal and newborn survival in six sub-Saharan countries, and is part of its “better evidence, improved advocacy and accountability to save lives”.
Paramount Chiefs ban child Bondo

The head of the Bondo Society in Kenema District, Haja Massah Kaisamba has disclosed that of the ten chiefdoms they have visited nine Paramount Chiefs have signed a memoranda of understanding against under-aged circumcision into the Bondo Society.
They are Dama, Koya, Lower Bambara, Dodo, Tunkia, Simbaru, Niawa, Kandu Lekpeyema, and Langurama.

Mohamed Turay, the Manager of electronic banking at the First International Bank attached to the Charlotte Street branch in Freetown has been charged on two counts of larceny and conspiracy to defraud.
