UPLC-SL urges Chris to adhere to sanctions

The Union of Premier League Clubs in Sierra Leone (UPLC-SL) has urged the Secretary General of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), Chris Kamara to adhere to the prescribed sanctions levied on him and within the stipulated time frame.

This came after the Premier League Disciplinary and Protest Committee imposed a fine against him for attacking and insulting the center referee in the match between FC Johansen and Bo Rangers on the 25th February, 2023.

Sierra Leone crowns female football league champions

The maiden Women’s Football Premier League has ended with Mogbwemo Queens as winners.

Reacting to the success of the club, its owner Emmanuel  Sahr Tondoneh Esq. said it was one of happiness, amazement and extreme pride for the young women whom he said “have shown resilience, tenacity and determination that it is not impossible, and have swam against the tide”.

Tondoneh told Politico on Saturday that collectively as management they were delighted that their diverse investment in the team did not go in vain.

FIFA approves the Southern Arena turf in Sierra Leone

The Chairman of Bo Rangers Football and also Team Manager of Leone Stars, Babadi Kamara has welcomed FIFA’s recent clean bill of health that was given after an inspection of the pitch at the newly-built modern Southern Arena sports facility in Bo.

Speaking to Politico last evening, Babadi said the pitch was exhaustively examined to assess various areas such as its shock absorption, the goal posts, dimension of the field and the drainage system.

Five Sierra Leone Premier League clubs, FA scribe face disciplinary measures

Five Premier League clubs in the ongoing Salone Premier League together with the Secretary General of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), Christopher Kamara have faced disciplinary actions from the League’s Disciplinary and Protest Committee.

The affected clubs are Kamboi Eagles, Ports Authority, Diamond Stars , East End Tigers and FC Johansen.

FBC inter-house athletics sport meet ends tomorrow

Fourah Bay College (FBC) is having its annual Inter-Hall track and field Athletics at the college’s Havelock Grounds-Kortright. The event which started on Thursday ends tomorrow Saturday 11th March 2023.

The Head of Department Games and Sports FBC, Francis Alpha told Politico how delighted they are for this year’s event which he said provides a platform for  his department  to identify talents and  preparing for the upcoming Inter-Varsity Athletics  organized by the Ministry of Technical and Higher Education.
