Seven Sierra Leonean referees have been given badges of accreditation by football’s world governing body, FIFA. The badges were presented to the seven men in Freetown at a ceremony by the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA).

The accreditation process is an annual process that involves reviewing the performance and capacity of referees globally. Six of the seven men were accredited last year.

East End Lions v Freetown City FC

East End Lions have won their last two games. They won against Old Edwardians and Central Parade. For a team like Lions’ caliber you will feel that they are now picking up momentum to launch their title run.

On paper this game should be an easy one for them, but FCFC will have a lot to say about that. They themselves secured their first win of the season against FC Johansen last week.

The Sierra Leone female Beach Volleyball team has left for Guinea on Tuesday to launch their 2020 Tokyo Olympics campaign.

The nine-man delegation are set to participate in the Zone 2 Olympic qualifiers. The country will compete against Mali, Gambia, Guinea, Cape Verde.

Sierra Leone will need to finish at least second to qualify to the next phase of qualifiers. Maria G. Fofana and Francess Lansana have been named in team one and Fatmata Binta Bah and Bernadette Fofanah have been named in team two.

FC Johansen, Mighty Blackpool and Central Parade are the only teams in the Sierra Leone Premier League that have failed to register a win this season. This failure has led to more pressure on the coaches in charge of these teams.

Last season some teams in this league sacked up to a dozen coaches. This shows you that this is a league where club executives are known to be impatient. Teams like Bo Rangers, Old Edwardians and Mighty Blackpool fired a total of six coaches - two each.

Old Edwardians Vs Central Parade

Old Edwardians had a brilliant game against FC Kallon last time out. How will they perform against Central Parade? Is this a general improvement or it was just enough motivation and energy just to play FC Kallon? These are questions that will be answered this evening.

Central Parade are still searching for their first win. This will be their third fixture; they have lost one, drawn one. Old Edwardians are the first Freetown based side Parade is facing this season, maybe that familiarity will give them an edge.

His appointment on the 17^th of October this year didn’t come without controversy, after mooted talks about the possibility of extending his predecessors term.
