The Sierra Leone Football Association have told to Politico that they country is ready for the West African Football Union (WAFU) Cup of Nations tournament that will be hosted in Senegal. The Head of Media and Marketing at the FA, Ibrahim Kamara gave the assurance despite the short notice of invitation for the tournament.

Sierra Leone Premier League club, Old Edwardians have started their search for a coach. The Western Area powerhouse parted with two coaches last season following bad performances and a string of bad results.

Bo Rangers have continued their spending spree following the signing of Former East End Lions defender, Mohamed G. Kamara (Fabregas). Kamara is joining the Rangers from his original club Lion Pride. He is the seventh player to be unveiled so far this season.

30 teams in the Northern Region of the country have started playing qualifying games for two spots in Sierra Leone Premier League. The teams are competing for an extra two spots in the country’s top tier league. Northern region is the only region that does not have any team in the league.
The 30 teams include Northern region power houses like Wusum Stars, Kolifa Stars, Bai Bureh Warriors, Kolenten Rovers. All these four teams have already been drawn out of the preliminaries which started over the weekend.

When Umaru ‘Zaingallay’ Bangura missed that penalty two weeks ago, the outpour of emotion was ugly. Most people were angry - extremely angry.
During that moment, very few were supportive. Emotions ran to a fever pitch. But Sierra Leone’s failure to qualify for the second phase of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers should not just be blamed on the captain. The blame should rest with so many other people and factors.

Sierra Leone National team coach. Sellas Tetteh has said he believes Leone Stars have a bright future. Tetteh made the remarks at the post match press conference, shortly after the national team botched the chance to be drawn in the main qualifying phase for the 2022 World Cup.
On Sunday Sierra Leone defeated Liberia 1-0 but failed to progress to the second phase of the qualifying round having finished 3-2 on aggregate.

Sierra Leone International, Kei Kamara has backed Leone Stars captain Umaru Bangura (Zaingalay) following his last gasp penalty miss against Lone Stars of Liberia on Sunday.
Zaingalay 31, who put in a solid performance over the two legs against Liberia missed the penalty on Sunday that could have seen Sierra Leone drawn in the next phase of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers.
Kamara wrote on his Facebook wall and Twitter consoling Zaingalay and showing his solidarity.
