Football fans have been discussing the prospects of the senior national side, Leone Stars qualifying for CAF 2017 in Gabon after they were draw in a group with defending champions Ivory coast and rising football nation, Gabon who qualify automatically as host and Sudan.

As SLFA Congress draws near, SWASAL Extend Media Blackout

The sports Writers Association of Sierra Leone (SWASAL) yesterday extended their media blackout of SLFA activities for another three months and until they received a written apology from the Football Association. The decision was reached at a general meeting of the body in Freetown.

SLFA Suspends EE Lions

The Sierra Leone Football Association has suspended East End Lions Football Clubs from all football activities for pulling out of the CAF Champions League qualifiers this year.

The letter dated 23rd February 2015, reads… “I write to inform you that with reference to a correspondence sent to your club on February 9th 2015 with regards to withdrawal of your club from CAF Champions league 2015 for failure to comply with regulations for participating after instructing SLFA to engage your club".

"We are ready for congress"... Chris Kamara

The General Secretary of the Sierra Leone Football Association Chris Kamara has told Politico that his association was set for its congress due in April. Kamara said, " we have put all reports together including the 2012 and 2013 audited accounts while the auditors are at present doing the 2014 accounts."

‘’Nathaniel will prove worthy’’... Ken Tabie

The Head Coach of Ports Authority Football Club Ken Tabie is optimistic that his former player Nathaniel Thongo-Fullah "will prove himself worthy with Seattle Sounders Football Club in the United State if he succeeds in his trials."

He said that the 18 year-old will "do his best to prove his mettle among big players in Major League Soccer because playing alongside big players in the world will help him achieve more laurels."

Eagles dumped out of CAF cup

The head coach of Kamboi Eagles Football Club has described the performance of his team in the CAF qualifying match in Algeria as "very good", despite being thrown out of the competition by ASO (Chelf).

Alhaji Foray told Politico in Freetown that his team was "unfortunate not to score a second goal which would have leveled the tie. He said he was able "to rekindle the team spirit in the players by infusing a winning mentality in them for the second leg which they won 1-0.

Eagles Fight for Survival in Algeria

After losing 2-0 to Amel Saad Olympic ASO (Chelf) in Algeria in the first leg of the CAF cup, Kamboi Eagle face an uphill battle to overturn that deficit in the second leg  which takes place on Friday 20 February 2015 in Algeria.
