Two WAFA candidates concerned over electoral “inconsistency”

Two Western Area Football Association (WAFA) Candidates aspiring for the association’s Chairmanship position in the elections  scheduled for the 30th June, 2023, Noel K. Horton and Chris Massaquoi have expressed concern over what they say are the inconsistencies on the electoral guidelines and procedures put in place.

Both men expressed their concerns through a letter they wrote to Lawyer Benjamin Gordon, WAFA Secretary General on the 2nd June, 2023.

EE Lions condemn Southern Arena vandalisation

East End Lions Football Club has unreservedly and unequivocally condemned the act of vandalization that took place at the Southern Arena Stadium during the match against Bo Rangers on the 27th May, 2023.

The club tendered its condemnation in a press statement issued on the 29th May 2023.

Bo Rangers issue ultimatum to SLFA President

For delaying to pay their Champions’ money since they won the Premier League last year, Bo Rangers have issued a fourteen day ultimatum to the President of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), Thomas Daddy Brima.

The ultimatum was contained in a letter written by the club’s Executive Chairman, Babadi Kamara on the 24th May, 2023.

Wilberforce FC signs Coach Alimu

Bottom of the Sierra Leone Premier League side, Wilberforce FC has signed out-of-favor coach Alimu Koroma (System) on a short-term contract.

Koroma who was rated as one of the experience coaches in the league was sacked by Kamboi Eagles weeks ago due to the club’s poor run of form recently after being placed in the 16th position with 27 points after playing 26 games. He was replaced at Kamboi Eagles by former FC Kallon Coach, Musa Kallon and former Old Edwardians Coach, Abdulai Kaloga Bah.

Sierra Leone FA President to face ethics board

President of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), Thomas Daddy Brima has been asked by the Ethics Board of the Association to respond to allegations bordering on Ethics Code and Regulations.

A letter addressed to the SLFA boss about the issue has gone public on social media.

Southern Arena officially opens on Sunday

The newly constructed Southern Arena stadium will be officially opened to the public on Sunday 21 st May 2023 to host both local and International matches.

The 6,000 (six thousand) capacity stadium constructed by the Chairman of Bo Rangers, Babadi Kamara is said to be the first provincial stadium in the country with modern facilities.

WAFU tournament: Shooting Starlets set up camp in Kenema

A delegation made up of 22 players and 14 officials of Sierra Leone’s female Under 20 side left Freetown on Tuesday 16th May for the eastern headquarter city of Kenema in preparation for the upcoming West Africa Football Union tournament.
