VIOLENT PROTESTS ARE NOT GOOD AT ALL

Those that are constantly calling for protests in Freetown in particular are busy telling the world that they are doing so in the name of democracy. They say it’s their democratic right to do so. We have counter arguments to make but that is not where we want to go at this time. All we want to do now is to call their attention to a few issues. We know we will be ignored because it’s very likely other people have said the same to them. In other words we are not saying anything new.

RASTA SENGS’ LEAGUE TABLE OF ABSENTEE WORKERS OUT

When Rasta Sengs turned up at Youyi Building the other day to basically see how early people go to work or whether they make an appearance at all, we knew where the whole thing was headed. Obviously not impressed with what he saw he asked that defaulters be queried.

O JERUSALEM HERE WE COME AT LAST

We enthusiastically support the decision by Principal to open an embassy for this country in ISRAEL. Not in Tel Aviv, but in JERUSALEM. We believe this has taken too long to come. The decision is not only wise and strategic; it shoots down decades of African Union diplomatic hypocrisy that has caused this country to lose huge investment in agriculture, technology and tourism from ISRAEL. We cannot continue like this. Principal has acted correctly and decisively.

IS THE GOVERNMENT INFRASTRUCTURE OFFICE STILL ON?

We know John Tambi has been sacked but is the infrastructure office still operating? If the office is still there, then who is the new boss or is that one of the offices on offer right now? We also know that there is a new structure called presidential initiatives but as far as we know it’s around three ministries – Agriculture, Energy and the Environment.

DONALD TRUMP TO APPEAR IN COURT AGAIN

We spend hours and hours every evening watching CNN, MSNBC and other TV channels we can find, watching Donald Trump, former US president face the legal music in courts across that vast country. We are learning a lot from what we see and hear on some of the most powerful TV stations around the world. Donald Trump is putting a brave face to things but he is very worried about his political career and crucially, about the real possibility of him spending time in jail.
