We have been to more than one thousand and one press conferences in our many years in journalism but we have never seen a press conference as carefully choreographed as the one CHIEF SIDIKIE and his staff used to “clear” his name.” Even the Americans with their love for slick presentations were put to shame on Tower Hill by CHIEF SIDIKIE.
G4S SAY SORRY BUT HOW CAN THEY EXPLAIN THIS?
We don’t seem to get our heads round what is happening with international security contractors, G4S, regarding their handling of the security contract for the Olympic Games in London. Here is a company that was so lucky to win a lucrative contract but failed badly when the chips were down. The company had to recruit and deploy up to 10,000 guards to secure the games. What is difficult about this? Now the British government has called in the army to take over security responsibility.
NEW POLITICAL PARTY FORMED IN MAKENI – SLPC
Kothor Alpha was at it once again at the funeral of Mama Alice in Makeni. Alpha likes such moments – a large and powerful audience including the president, listening to him. The guy forgot he was at the funeral of the president’s mother. With the presence of all political parties, Kothor Alpha decided to create a new political party. He called it SIERRA LEONE PEOPLES’ CONGRESS. He then went on to explain how his new party will salvage Sierra Leone. Interesting!
MAADA BIO AND HIS 150 SUPPORTERS
The SLPP “welcomed” their leader from abroad the other day in the most extraordinary fashion. They had the perfect opportunity to demonstrate strength in Freetown, a region in which they have received serious battering in terms of high profile defections to the APC and daily media kicking over this and that – this was Maada’s day in the sun – in the sun or under the palm-tree? Anyway!
