AUDITOR GENERAL’S REPORT IS OUT SO WHAT’S THE NEXT ANGLE?

The Auditor General’s report came out in time despite suggestions to the contrary following the suspension of Lara Taylor Pearce and one of her deputies, Tamba Momoh. They are waiting now to face a tribunal for issues bordering on professionalism in the discharge of their duties. The judges have been sworn in and the nation is waiting. We are hoping and praying that the tribunal will be open to the media. We are in a democracy and openness of such processes is a key ingredient.

THIS MAMMY CUSS IS REALLY SHAMING THIS COUNTRY

Let’s start by saying that we stand by our colleague ASMA JAMES.As far as possible we will implement what SLAJ has directed and we congratulate our executive for accompanying ASMA JAMES to the CID to file a complaint against LAJ. We are also extremely happy that the whole country, including the family members of the man who was so rude to our colleague, condemned that unprovoked rudeness.

SO WHAT DID THE WORLD BANK REALLY TRY TO ACHIEVE?

We are still trying to convince ourselves that the GREAT World Bank was NOT trying to force the government of this land that we love to either cancel or suspend for several weeks more the 2021 Mid-term census when only a few hours to the start of the exercise, they announced that they were withdrawing both money and technical support from Statistics Sierra Leone.

LARA TAYLOR PEARCE GOES BEFORE A TRIBUNAL

The panel of judges is in place and the nation is waiting to hear the case against Lara Taylor-Pearce and her colleague from Audit Service Sierra Leone. They were both suspended from office by Principal. We don’t have the real details of the case against them but we’ve been told of something akin to professional misconduct but as usual we have to be careful at this stage when lawyers have entered the field of play on both sides.
