Sport betting company, Mercury International has donated US $ 5,900 to the Sports Writers Association of Sierra Leone, SWASAL to sponsor two journalists from the association to cover the national team’s weekend encounter with Cape Verde.
The chairman of Mercury International Charity Foundation Samir Hassaniyeh said the support is a continued demonstration of his company’s commitment to the promotion sports in the country.
He said SWASAL has been very instrumental in the development of sports in Sierra Leone. Hassaniyeh said: ‘’we are going to continue supporting SWASAL to do live commentary whenever Leone Stars are playing away, as it is part of our Corporate Social Responsibility”.
Mohamed Fajah Barrie, President of SWASAL thanked Mercury International for their continued support to SWASAL and promised that the money will be used for the intended purpose.
SWASAL Organising Secretary Abu Bakarr Kamara and Alexander Thullah of Mercury Radio were selected by the association to cover the match.
