ACC Sensitizes Magburaka Police

The Northern Regional Office of the Anti-Corruption Commission has held a meeting with personnel of the Sierra Leone Police, Magburaka Division, according to a press release from ACC.

Speaking at the engagement, the Operations Officer, Inspector Ibrahim D. Kamara praised the ACC for their work. He said the Commission should be viewed as a friend of all since its vision was to make Sierra Leoneans live better and meaningful lives, which would be impossible where corruption was rife.

Kamara said such interactive meetings would go a long way to make the police a corrupt-free entity. He assured the ACC of the SLP’s sustained collaboration with the Commission in the fight against corruption.

ACC’s Coordinator in Tonkolili District, Abdulai Saccoh said the Commission was making the move in order to encourage police personnel in the district to denounce corruption. He said the meeting was to educate all on the negative effects of graft, the operations of the Commission and to enlist their support in the fight. He said underdevelopment, poverty and deprivation were the consequences of corruption and encouraged his audience to stay clear of corrupt acts for the good of the country.

The ACC Regional Manager, North, Patrick Sandi said that although the mandates of the two institutions were different, the SLP and ACC were partners in so many ways, adding that the police were central to the ACC’s success in the fight against corruption in the country.
