NDA damns court ruling

  • Pateh Bah

By Aminata Phidelia Allie

Chairman of the beleaguered National Democratic Alliance in Sierra Leone, Sylvanus Kanyako has dismissed yesterday’s court ruling that could place the expelled party member, Mohamed Pateh Bah, ahead of the national executive.

He was reacting to a court ruling by Justice Abdulai Cham of High Court No.1, who had granted an injunction in favour of the former flag bearer contestant until the next adjourned date.

Kanyako told Politico: “there is no injunction. We as a party are going about our normal business.” He said Alhaji Wurie Musidal Jalloh was their candidate, adding that as far as they were concerned the matter had only been adjourned.

Pateh Bah told Politico that though temporal, there was an injunction that Jalloh should not be recognised as the NDA presidential candidate by either the National Electoral Commission or the Political Parties’ Registration Commission or the party until the next adjourned date.

I believe the truth will prevail in the end. I am fighting for the truth and my constitutional right. That is why I strongly believe that I am going to win this case.” Bah said.

The case comes up 8 October 2012.
