SANUSI COVID-19 indices update (26/08/20)

Sierra Leone recorded 0.86% and 0.78% increase in COVID-19 total cases and total recoveries respectively in 48 hours, from Sunday (10:00 am) to Tuesday (10:00 am).

In comparison, Sierra Leone’s increase in total cases is lower than Burkina Faso (3.16%), Cape Verde (2.23%), Gambia (6.07%), Guinea (1.22%), Nigeria (1.24%), Senegal (1.27%), Togo (1.57%), Manor River Union or MRU (0.88%), Economic Community of West African States or ECOWAS (0.96%), Africa (1.43%), Europe (1.50%), North America (1.31%), South America (1.77%), Asia (2.69%) and the World (1.85%).

However, increase in total cases in Ivory Coast (0.76%), Ghana (0.27%) Liberia (0.31%) and Mali (0.33%) were lower compared to Sierra Leone. Benin, Guinea-Bissau and Niger recorded zero increase in total cases.

Guinea (3.77%) recorded the highest increase in total deaths compared to Ivory Coast (0.88%), Gambia (3.57%), Ghana (0.77%), Nigeria (0.70%), Senegal (2.26%), MRU (0.95%), ECOWAS (0.91%), Africa (1.47%) Europe (0.26%), North America (0.64%), South America (1.62%), Asia (2.10%) and the World (1.05%).

Benin, Burkina Faso, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Mali, Niger, Sierra Leone and Togo recorded zero increase in total deaths over the period.

Moreover, Sierra Leone’s increase in total recoveries was lower compared to Burkina Faso (1.55%), Cape Verde (2.40%), Ivory Coast (3.49%), Gambia (7.69%), Guinea (2.85%), Nigeria (1.26%), Senegal (1.27%), Togo (1.22%), MRU (3.03%), ECOWAS (1.60%), Africa (2.47%), Europe (0.88%), North America (2.29%), South America (3,22%), Asia (3.49%) and the World (2.77%).

However, Ghana (0.39%) Liberia (0.37%), Mali (0.75%) and Niger (0.09%) recorded lower increase in total recoveries compared to Sierra Leone. Benin and Guinea-Bissau recorded zero increase in total recoveries.
