Renewed cholera outbreak in Sierra Leone

A cholera outbreak in Dema chiefdom in the southern Bonthe District of Sierra Leone killed two male adults last week. Eight others, including women and children, are said to be in “a critical condition”. This is according to the Disease Surveillance Officer of the Bonthe District Health Management team, Sahr Jimmy.

Pujehun MP endorses Allie Bangura

The Member of Parliament for Constituency 87 in Pujehun District, has urged his district delegates to the forthcoming national conference of the opposition SLPP party to support Allie Essa Bangura for the leadership of the party.

Speaking at a campaign ceremony in Pujehun of Ambassador Bangura, Ansumana Kaikai, MP, said the candidate had contributed “greatly” towards the development of the party and was capable of bringing unity among its members.

Kamakwie gravity water “a white elephant”

A Le 65 million project seems to be lying in ruins. Residents of Kamakwie in the northern Bombali district have described as “a white elephant” the gravity water project constructed in April last year by a Korean group. The project is a World Bank supported initiative to enhance better water supply at rural level.
