Shooting Stars to host Chad on Saturday

The national male U20 football team of Sierra Leone ‘shooting stars’, will on Saturday May 5 host their Chadian counterparts in a return leg encounter of the ongoing 2013 African U20 youth championship qualifiers.

The match will take place at the national stadium in Freetown

“Enact Club License Policy Now” - …says SLFA scribe

Acting General Secretary of the Sierra Leone Football Association, SLFA, has told Politico that all Premier League clubs in the country should be “licensed before participating in any Confederation of African Football (CAF) and Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) competitions.”

According to Abdurrahman Swaray an enactment has already taken place in the just concluded three-day African football organisational meeting in Cairo, where he represented Sierra Leone on the invitation of FIFA.

SHOOTING STARS BACK IN TRIUMPH

The National Under 20 football team - Shooting Stars returned to Freetown on Tuesday after securing a 3-2 victory over their Chadian counterparts in front of an enthusiastic capacity crowd at the 22nd Idris Derby Stadium in Ndjamena

The match was the first leg tie of the preliminary round one in the ongoing qualifiers for the 2013 African Under 20 Youth Championship in due to be held in Algeria.

Eight place Wusum Stars will engage relegated threatened Ports Authority in the Northern town of Makeni this evening. Both teams were defeated in their last matches, wherein Wusum Stars lost away to Old Edwardians 1-0, and the Waterfront boys where thrashed 2-0 by Freetown City FC.
