It would appear as if all gloves are off now between former Mayor Tucker and the new Mayor Kobba Musa. We have seen pictures of riot police deployed to prevent damage to property or hand to hand combat on the streets of Bo.

OLD LEONE NOTES ARE GONE AT LAST

Finally the so-called OLD LEONE notes are gone –forever, we hope. We wouldn’t mind seeing them stuck on the walls of our museum or in the home of some collector but not on our streets. Somebody visited our office the other day and wondered what the delay was all about?

RASTA SENGS GETS A LOW CUT: TIMES ARE CHANGING

Rasta Sengs left Freetown for the UN with his dreadlocks in place and returned with a Maada Bio – like LOW CUT. What’s going on? Sengs easily cut off his dreadlocks by which many Sierra Leoneans have come to identify our great Chief of all Ministers and we are told by people close to him that he didn’t mention that decision to anyone.

WHAT’S THE LATEST WITH THE EXAMINATION FOR TEACHERS?

We were told the other day that our teachers in this country would have to take an exam and pass it so that they would be eligible to be licensed to continue in the job. We also read from social media that the teachers were resisting the idea and the powerful SLTU was also not impressed. At this stage we want to know how the whole thing is going right now. In one report we read, dates had been set for the exams to take place in some parts of the provinces as a first step. Did it really happen?

PLEASE DO SOMETHING ABOUT YOUYI BUILDING QUICKLY?

We know we are not the only people complaining about the situation at Youyi Building. This is one of the most powerful buildings in the country, housing several government ministries, departments and agencies but the way things are going in that place right now, leaves much to be desired.

PARAN AND WIFE SHOULD PREPARE FOR HIGH COURT

We have been told by our usually impeccable sources that the Clerk of Parliament and possibly his dear wife will finally have their day in court next week. The two people have been tried and convicted in the court of public opinion. In these days of social media that should be expected. As we write the clerk remains in office until next week when, according to our sources, an indictment will be issued and he will have to vacate the office and concentrate on clearing his name. That's what our sources have told us.

ANOTHER BORMEH ON FOURAH BAY COLLEGE ROAD

Maybe it’s not quite at the level of the main BORMEH in the east of Freetown but what is happening on the road to Fourah Bay College, about 100 yards from the White Water Bridge has the potential to change the look and smell of that very important stretch of road. We have spent the last FOUR weeks watch a potential new BORMEH develop from bits of paper to a full blown dump site. Now they’ve started setting fire to the rubbish, polluting the whole area.
