PRINCIPAL’S NEW YEAR’S DAY ADDRESS: OUR TAKE

Principal delivered a short and reasonably nice speech on New Year’s Day and then set free more than 500 prisoners serving various offences throughout our Correctional Service system. He definitely believes they should now go home and sin no more. We shall see.

SEND CARIBBEANS DEPORTED FROM AMERICA BACK PLEASE

So since August this year two Caribbean guys have been detained at the CID after being dumped here by US immigration in what we think was a deportation process gone very wrong. We have seen documents that clearly showing the guys are from the Caribbean with absolutely no links to Sierra Leone. How did they end up behind bars at the CID in Freetown?

POWER SHIFTS FROM THE BULLET OF THE GREEN CAMP

That BULLET was going to be stripped of his post as Leader of the GREEN CAMP was the worst kept secret anywhere in the world in the buildup to their mini convention in Freetown. He may not have said it in public but BULLET himself knew his fate was sealed the moment the delegates arrived.

INTERNATIONAL DAY OF DISABLED PEOPLE 2019

We are observing International Day of Disabled people throughout the world. There were very little signs of that on Tuesday in Sierra Leone but that doesn’t make the observance of the event any less important in our country. To highlight the challenges facing disable people in this country, we return to the camp at Pademba road, near the Public Works Department, PWD.

WIMSAL: WHEN ALL IS SAID AND DONE

The organization, Women in the Media-Sierra Leone (WIMSAL) has just come through one of the most difficult elections in its short history. The campaigning was bitter – people who were normally good friends found themselves on different sides of the political fence, some of the campaign rhetoric was not so friendly, and there were allegations of outside interference and all of that.
