Determined and confident: How should Leone Stars prepare for Afcon 22

The tournament is the African Cup of Nations 2021 (AFCON2021); the host is Cameroun, the land of the indomitable Lions: the city is Douala, the commercial and economic capital of Cameroun; the stadium is the newly constructed 50, 000 capacity (all seater) multi sports complex officially known as Stade Omnisport de Douala (also known as Japoma Stadium); and the team is the Mighty Leone Stars, the darling of Sierra Leone.

Kei Kamara signs for HIFK Helsinki

Kei Ansu Kamara, 36 has opted for a second stint of European football having appended his signature for Finnish club HIFK Helsinki.

“I am happy to be part of the most historic club in Finland,” Kamara stated, in expressing delight about the contract. He signed for the Helsinki side until the end of the season with an option to extend his contract.

Overweight Sierra Leone Judoka disqualified

The disqualified Judoka from Sierra Leone is being “removed from the games village” and sent home earlier than schedule by the National Olympic Committee of Sierra Leone. According to the Chief of Mission of the NOC, “Frederick Harris was disqualified on Monday 27th July from competing in the 81kg event. Unisa Deen-Kargbo said “the athlete weighed 84Kg which is 4Kg above his fighting weight”. 

The NOC says it’s “disappointed at this development and vehemently condemns the athlete and the Judo Federation of Sierra Leone for failing to monitor the weight”.

Babadi Kamara is Leone Stars Manager

The appointment of popular football enthusiast and philanthropist Babadi Kamara as Team   Manager of Sierra Leone’s national football side Leone Stars has been confirmed. The businessman who is also chairman of high flying Bo Rangers football club will now take full managerial charge of Leone Stars, a position he would hardly find strange, having been seen in very interactive engagements with the players in the build up to the team’s triumph over Benin in the AfCon crucial qualifier played at a neutral venue in Conakry, Guinea.

Bo Rangers boss meets Guinea’s FA President

The Chairman of the Bo Rangers Football Club,Babadi Kamara has visited the President of the Guinea Football Association Antonio Souare to discuss issues of football  and explore the possibility of establishing a bilateral technical relationship  between Bo Rangers  and Horoya football club in Guinea.

Babadi  Kamara ,  reportedly went to the neighbouring country to explore avenues which could be used to create cordial relationships between the two countries’ football associations and among football clubs .

Over bonuses paid to Leone Stars, Sierra Leone FA President clears the air

The President of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), Thomas Daddy Brima has in a video message on social media reacted after the list of players to benefit from the incentives by President Julius Maada Bio indicated the omitting of the names of two players Musa Noah Kamara alias Musa Tombo and Saidu Mansaray alias Malian.
