Kallon out, Keister in: Sierra Leone national football team reshuffles

The Sierra Leone Football Association has sacked the Assistant Coach 1 of the national team, Musa Kallon. His sacking comes following an investigation in to his conduct. In his place, former Leone Stars coach John Keister has been appointed.

Kallon was suspended last week for a physical altercation with the national team’s Welfare Officer, Junior Lawson. Following the conclusion of the FA’s investigation, Lawson has been handed a two-match ban.

Sierra Leone's Buya wins league title with Sweden's Djugarden

Mohamed Buya Turay’s goal has won the league title for his Swedish side Djurgaden FC on Saturday. Djurgaden needed just a draw to prevent Malmo FF from wining the trophy on the last day of the season.

Djurgaden went 2-0 down against IFK Norrkoping in the first half on Saturday before rallying the troops for a resurgence in the second half. Jasper Kalstrom scored just five minutes in to the second half before Buya equalized in the 65th minute.

Alhassan Koroma ruled out of AFCON qualifiers for Sierra Leone

Sierra Leonean star Alhassan Koroma, 19 has been ruled out of the first two Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers that Leone Stars will be engaged in during the second week of November. The Spanish based midfielder got injured this week whiles on duty with his club Real Balompedica Linense, also known as Balona.

Burkinabe referee set to return for Sierra Leone V Lesotho

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has named the Burkina Faso referee Jean Outarra to handle the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations Qualifier between Sierra Leone and Lesotho.

Outarra oversaw the 2022 World Cup qualifying preliminary game between Leone Stars (Sierra Leone) and Lone Stars (Liberia) in September. This selection means he will be officiating a game in Freetown for the second time in as many months.

Sierra Leone FA donates Le 500 million to the PLB

The Sierra Leone Football Association has announced that it has donated Le500million to the newly constituted Premier League Board (PLB).

According to a press release on Monday, the FA said the donation is a “funding support towards the commencement of the official Sierra Leone Premier League.”

Referees start training ahead of Sierra Leone's Premier League season

Thirty referees are currently undergoing a five-day training in physique and technique at the National Stadium. The referees have been drawn from elite and intermediate categories from across the country.

The training which started on Monday is geared towards preparing them physically and mentally for competitions like the Sierra Leone Premiere League and FIFA accredited games; FIFA World Cup and Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches.

High Court ruling deals blow to the Sierra Leone FA

A High Court judge, Justice Komba Kamanda has ruled that four plaintiffs who brought a case against the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) have the legal grounds to do so.

The judge made the statement as part of a ruling on Wednesday following weeks of arguments by both the legal counsels of the SLFA and a group of four football stakeholders.
