Liberia v Sierra Leone: the battle of the fringe sides

One year since Sierra Leone played Ethiopia in Addis Ababa, the team will be out again in the outskirts of Monrovia to take on Liberia.

Leones Stars absence from the international scene was not a sabbatical but rather a punishment for what FIFA saw as government’s interreference into football. The country has used this long absence wisely.  This long stand in the cold meant they could press the reset button and start all over again.

Marampa Stars midfielder joins team in Spain

Former Marampa Stars midfielder, Alhassan Koroma has joined his new team, Real Balompedica in Spain.

The third division team signed Koroma almost two months ago whiles he was on loan to East End Lions. Details of his contract have not been disclosed by Marampa Stars or Balon.

Kei Kamara recalled to Leone Stars squad in Sierra Leone vs Liberia

Striker, Kei Ansu Kamara has been recalled to the Sierra Leone national team, Leone Stars following his apology on social media to the FA. The 35-year-old striker was axed from the list of invited foreign based players last week following his critical comments about the FA on social media.

Kamara blasted the FA and other football stakeholders on the recent situation involving Musa Tombo. In a Facebook post he called football stakeholders including the FA as “hypocrites” in the way they were clamoring around the Tombo issue.

Sierra Leone makes U-turn on Tetteh’s appointment

The Ministry of Sports have reversed their decision on the appointment of Sellas Tetteh as the head coach of the Sierra Leone National team.

Just over a week ago the ministry said they would not recognize the appointment of Tetteh because the process of selecting him was rigged and incomplete.

Sierra Leone's coach leaves door open for Tombo selection

Leone Stars new coach, Sellas Tetteh has left the chance of selecting Musa Noah Kamara (Musa Tombo) open. The Ghanaian tactician said he regards the great potential of local talents.

“I believe he is in country, he will be coming to training and we shall be comparing him to other players in his position. That is the most important thing,” Teetteh said.

“We have a lot of respect for home base players. Let us be patient and see how it goes,” he added.
