BREWERY HIKES PRICES SO HOW DO WE COPE?

It was reported recently that the Sierra Leone Brewery has hiked the price of its beverages to the annoyance of people who cannot do without a pint or two on a daily basis. Obviously, the brewery is going in line with other businesses that have had to respond to the economic situation in the world and indeed the depreciation of the Leone against major world currencies to hike prices.

A FEW DAYS AFTER THE BO STADIUM INCIDENT

We praise God that none of our beautiful girls died in that incident at the Bo mini stadium last week. We understand many of them have been discharged while those seriously injured are receiving special medical attention at the Bo government hospital.

WHY THROW CIVIL SERVANTS OUT TO BUILD AN EMBASSY?

If the Ministry of Public Assets gets its way half a dozen Senior Civil Servants and their families would be thrown out of the government quarters they’ve occupied several years now ostensibly to make way for Turkey and Saudi Arabia to build embassies in Freetown. By the plan, which we believe is not sufficiently consultative; those families would be kicked out before the end of February 2023.

WHEN PARLIAMENT CLOSES DOWN IN THE COMING WEEKS

Some members of the current parliament know they will not return to Tower Hill after the June 24 2023 elections. In fact some of them landed there by mistake or riding on the wings of certain people and institutions. We will certainly not miss a good many of them from all sides of the House and we can't wait for Bio to close the House. Here are those we will not miss.

EU PARLIAMENT'S CORRUPTION CASE TAKES A NEW TWIST

As we say in Freetown the game is getting bigger and bigger at the European Union parliament. The authorities in Belgium have made arrests and found big money kept in suitcases allegedly by senior members of the EU parliament.
