RACIAL ATTACKS AND VIOLENCE FOLLOW ENGLAND EURO DEFEAT
We enthusiastically supported England throughout the just concluded European football tournament and we prayed fervently that after more than a century football would finally go home but it didn’t happen. Southgate had a good team but tactics went wrong on that day and some of the England stars of the competition just didn’t put in the performance we’re used to seeing from them both in the EPL and the Euro.
PRINCIPAL DOING WELL ON HIS FARM BUT WHILE WE WAIT…
As they say, Principal is leading by example. He came to power talking a lot about the need for us, the good people of Sierra Leone, to grow what we eat and so drastically cut back on the hard currency we send abroad to bring rice into this country so people don’t starve. He has put a lot of money into agriculture projects like Rhombe Swamp and Tormabum and has also brought in hundreds of tractors to help farmers do large scale production.
DEMBY MUST DEAL WITH UNPROFESSIONAL HEALTH WORKERS
We’re not sure brother Demby was prepared for what he now has to deal with when he picked up that call and agreed to return to this country to serve as Minister of Health. We’re not suggesting that everything is rosy even in the great United States but the sort of problems brother Demby is being called upon to attend to now in this country are distracting him from the huge task of putting our health care system on the rails.
CYBERCRIME BILL GOES THROUGH PARLIAMENT, AT LAST
So now it’s time to think twice about what we put out on social media from anywhere in the world. Well, it may take a few weeks more before the final stage in the enactment of this bill is completed – parliament has to incorporate the amendments agreed on and then Principal will sign the bill into law. We don’t know if there will be a public ceremony to sign the bill but let’s give ourselves two more weeks for the cycle to be completed.
