"MORE APPOINTMENTS TO BE ANNOUNCED SHORTLY" OH DEAR!

And the waiting goes on and on and on. How short is this State House “shortly” please? In the last few weeks, we've turned from trying to find out what "shortly" actually meant in the context of that press release announcing the sacking of Frank Kargbo, to trying to make sense of the political tactic of promising to announce something "shortly" and then keeping the nation guessing for so long and asking FOR HOW LONG?

THE PLASTIC BAG EMERGENCY IN SALONE

This country is literally swimming in plastic. Discarded plastic bags are all over the place. Discarded plastic soft drink containers can be found everywhere. WHAT NOW SAY THE MORE TIMERS IN MAMA SALONE?

Ask many people in and outside America they would tell you they thought Donald J. Trump was joking about wanting to be president of the greatest nation on planet earth. There's a sense in which we could argue that even Mr. Trump thought his was a big April Fool's joke. Now, after two clear primary election wins, Trump, like an object in a car's mirror, is closer to the White House that he really appears.

VEHICLE SALES POINTS AND THE PARKING WAHALA IN FREETOWN

As with many other things, the Freetown City Council has completely lost control of parking space in the Central Business District. Yes we know they hardly have control over anything but this one is up to our necks. The whole area is now an unregulated free-for-all space. The problem has been compounded by car sellers parking their wares on the streets waiting for customers. If it took two years for somebody to buy the cars, they will parked in the same place for all those 24 months.
