Rodney Michael Donates cash for Bo field rehabilitation

Recently declared aspirant for the Sierra Leone Football Association Presidency, Rodney Edmond Michael, has donated Twenty-million Leones to the Bo District Football Association (BoDFA) for the rehabilitation of the Bo Coronation Field.

The presentation was done by the deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Edmond Michael Foundation, Hassan Bangura, to the acting Chairman of the Southern Region Football Association, Sadick Deen Nyakoh on Saturday.

Sierra Leone Shooting Stars Exit WAFU U-20 tournament

Sierra Leone were beaten 2-1 by the Gambian on Tuesday in their final match of the WAFU Zone A U-20 tournament in Senegal.

Their first match ended 1-1 against the hosts – Senegal. This has paved the way for the Gambian Scorpions to progress to the next stage.

Both teams were solid and created a couple of chances during the first half of the game and came close to scoring. Shooting Stars managed to take some shots at goal but it were their opponents who had most of the chances but were unlucky.

Hundreds honour late COFA Chairman, Sama Sesay

 One of the most popular figures in Sierra Leone football circles Sama Sesay who last Thursday was laid to rest at the Circular Road cemetery in Freetown past Sunday. Until his death Sesay was Chairman of the community level Central One Football Association (COFA). The mini- league organised by COFA, was for predominantly young and raw talents eyeing the prospect of playing higher level football.

Sierra Leone's Shooting Stars forced into a draw by Senegal

Sierra Leone U-20, Shooting Stars, drew with Senegal in their opening match of the West Africa Football Union (WAFU) U-20 Championship last Friday at the Stade Lart Dior De Thies, some forty-seven miles from the Senegalese capital, Dakar.

The hosts, Senegal who won the competition last year in Ghana, struggled to get a win in their first match against their rivals in Group A. The visitors were very impressive from start to finish.

Sierra Leone Under 20 clash with Senegal today

Players of Sierra Leone’s national Under 20 Football side have landed in Senegal ahead of their Group A, West Africa Football Union Zone A game against Senegal which will be played today at the Stade Lart Dior De Thies, Dakar. Kick-off is at 4pm.

The 40 man contingent who left Freetown yesterday comprised twenty players, nine Technical team members, four Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) officials and seven government officials, according to a press release from the FA.
