POPE JOHN PAUL ENTRAPPED IN SLFA SOCIAL MEDIA PLOT

Some cruel manipulators who are hiding behind the anonymity provided by social media are congratulating themselves in the hope that they have seriously embarrassed Pope John Paul and the government to the extent that De Pa would sack the pope instantly from his job of running the Sport Ministry. People like us can see through that rubbish easily.

EBOLA WAR: "A BUMPY ROAD TO ZERO". WHY IS IT SO?

We don't know if this thing about us having a "bumpy road to zero" in this Ebola war is news anymore. Anyway, just because people in NERC continue talking about it, newspapers have an excuse to also write about it all the time. As far as we know, Liberia had just one major bump in the road leading to their own zero. In fact, the politicians there are already warning their people to only come over to Sierra Leone when it's absolutely essential. That's good neighbourliness, right?

EMERGENCY RESTRICTIONS RELAXED BUT WE WANT MORE THAN THAT

We can breathe a little now following the relaxing of the State of Emergency. We say a little because our association, SLAJ, has repeatedly called for the whole emergency package to be lifted so we can enjoy our full range of civil liberties.

LEADERSHIP CHANGE AT NJALA UNIVERSITY AFTER MONTHS OF STRUGGLE

It started with little drops of water. Now, it would appear as if the river running just behind Professor Abu Sesay's official residence on Mokonde campus has swept the man away. We know of struggles between University administrations and lecturers are common in most parts of the developing world in particular but the one that has ended with Prof. Abu Sesay being told to go was unnecessarily too protracted. We don't want to go into the gory details of what really happened.
