The international Olympic Committee IOC through its Solidarity Fund has provided scholarships for two Sierra Leonean athletes Catharine Hudor and Afsatu Koroma currently based in the USA.
The president of Sierra Leone Athletics Association Abdul Karim Sesay said the scholarship will cover training and personal expenses to help the athletes take part in Olympic competitions.

The Secretary General of the Sierra Leone Lawn Tennis Association SLTA Yayah Koroma has said that they hope to be able to host a grand slam tournament in Freetown following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), formalising a lease agreement with the Hill Station Tennis Club for the use of the court for a period of 20 years.

The Chairman of the stakeholder group of football administrators and managers Alhaji Unisa Alim Sesay has told Politico that all his members will regularize their status with the SLFA according to the organisation's constitution, before the congress in April
He assured that the question of regularizing their status will not divide them anymore because they were ready to attend the congress with a unified force to change the face of football in the country.

Mustapha Bundu, a product of the Craig Bellamy Foundation in Freetown is reported to have performed brilliantly at the Hart Pury College in Bristol, by scoring a hat trick against the defending champion, Bristol Rovers in the Englen school tournament.
According to reports, the 16 year old has been called up to represent the England U-18 College team in their ongoing tour of Europe.

The newly elected Vice President of the National Paralympics Committee Zainab Koroma has promised to improve the status of Paralympians in Sierra Leone describing them as her executive's priority.
She said "they have chosen this career so we must make them feel that disability is not inability. We are starting now to reach out to possible sponsors to help the association financially."
