The Technical Director of the Sierra Leone Volleyball Association Mohamed Vangahun has described 2014 as a successful year for the sport in Sierra Leone, noting that 2015 'is packed with activities and we have forwarded our plan of activities to the Ministry of Sports.'

The president of the national Olympic Committee, Dr. Patrick Coker has praised the National Paralympics Committee on the successful conclusion of their elective congress in Freetown.

Dr. Coker described the executive elections 'as transparent free and fair...this is a pleasure not only for me but the NOC as well, and this should send a good  signal to other sporting associations that still have problems with leadership to settle their problems through a congress and not fight each other.'

A prominent broadcaster has put his name forward for the post of Executive Secretary of the  National Paralympics Committee of Sierra Leone (NPC-SL). Alexander Thullah popularly known as African Teacher says he will be a candidate at today's elective congress at the Siaka Steven Stadium.

According to Thullah, his wants to help rebrand Paralympics sport and make it popular across Sierra Leone. He said as a person with disability himself, his involvement would "help build confidence among talented disabled athletes to come out and showcase their skills and ability."

One of the country’s best Table Tennis Paralympians George Wyndham has told Politico that he feels able to do anything a perfectly-able person can do despite his disability.

Wyndham who started playing active table tennis in the year 2000, described himself as versatile sportsman with ideas in various sports like Wheel Chair Hand ball, Volleyball amongst others, but he said he chose table tennis because "I get pleasure whenever I play the sport."

FA Cup winners of Sierra Leone Kamboi Eagles Football Club are in training, ahead of their encounter with Algerian outfit Amel-Saad Olympic Football Club in the preliminary stages of the CAF Confederation Cup preliminary in the second week of February.

The world governing football body, FIFA has threatened to ban Sierra Leone from all FIFA and CAF competitions if the interim body of the Sierra Leone Football Association headed by Alhaji Unisa Alim Sesay "continues to recognise the outcome of the so-called Congress of December 20^th 2014". The threat was contained in a letter to the National Sports Council of Sierra Leone which backs the interim body.

The Eastern Region Football Association (ERFA) has passed a vote of no-confidence in their Vice Chairman Hon. Francis Konuwa accusing him of taking an "unprecedented and unilateral decision relating to the sale and transfer of ownership of Gem Stars FC to Belvic United".

The letter, signed by nine executive members by serving as board chairman of Gem Stars  and vice chairman of ERFA, Hon. Konuwa has reduced the strength of the region in terms of delegates, to the  SLFA Congress from ten (10) members to nine (9).
